Rooted in experimentation, Rogier Bosschaart’s art practice is one of continuous exploration and reinvention, which showcases the artist’s personality and style.
Brought up in a world of storytelling, with both of his parents involved in the Amsterdam theater scene, he started creating from an early age, building his own musical instruments, theatrical costumes, and drawing up imagined worlds. Throughout his life, he carried on with this practice while stumbling from one fantastical experience to the next.
After being scouted as a high-fashion model in 2005, he quickly rose to fame as the muse of many designers, photographers, and fashion creatives. This exposure meant working in close proximity with some of the greatest visionaries in the world of fashion, and gave him a unique insight into the world of visual and conceptual beauty that strongly informs his own artistic practice. At the same time, it provided him with the possibility to travel the world, taking in new cultures, languages, and aesthetics. Whether in the highly intuitive abstract works or in his figurative drawings and paintings, one can always detect this theatrical upbringing and search for discovery.
Currently based between Miami and Amsterdam, the artist continues to produce new works exploring new narratives.
